Mulebuy QC Finder: The Rejection Ladder

Mulebuy Spreadsheet Guide · 5 7 月, 2026

The Mulebuy QC finder is the buyer’s ground truth. It is also the most under-used tool on the platform. Most beginners either accept every QC photo or reject randomly. Experienced buyers use a ladder.

The rejection ladder

Every QC photo scores at one of five levels. The level determines your action.

Level 1: Cosmetic — accept

Minor loose thread, tiny asymmetry not visible when worn, packaging wear. Accept.

Level 2: Noticeable — request additional photo

Slight color drift, one uneven stitch line, small print alignment issue. Not a rejection yet — request another angle to confirm.

Level 3: Persistent — negotiate

Consistent color mismatch across photos, structural asymmetry, off-spec sizing. Message the seller. Options: partial refund, replacement, or reject.

Level 4: Structural — reject

Broken stitching, incorrect panel construction, wrong material, missing components. Reject cleanly. Sellers reissue calmly-worded rejections without friction.

Level 5: Wrong item — reject immediately

Wrong product altogether, wrong colorway, wrong size. Reject. This is not negotiable.

Why the ladder works

Objective severity levels remove emotion from the decision. “This kind of feels off” is not a rejection reason. “This is a Level 3 color drift across two photos” is defensible and communicable.

The three-photo minimum

Do not make a decision on fewer than three photos. One is luck; two might repeat the same angle; three across different angles is the minimum for defensible judgment.

What separates useful QC photos

  • Natural light or 5000K LED.
  • Neutral background so color drift is visible.
  • Scale reference in at least one shot.
  • Different angles, not the same shot twice.

How the finder integrates with your workflow

QC review is the second filter in the 3×3 method. Beginners should read the starter kit for context on which categories reject most frequently.
