Cryptocurrency: the underrated option
Crypto payments where supported are fast and hard to reverse. Downside: no chargeback if something goes wrong. Use for orders where you already trust the platform and the seller.
Wire / Wise for bulk orders
For orders over $500, Wise transfers or SWIFT wires often incur lower total fees than card processing. Wise in particular has become popular for buyers ordering multiple parcels per month.
The currency conversion trap
Some cards convert at issuer rates 2–3% worse than market. Wise and multi-currency cards convert closer to interbank. On a $300 order, that is meaningful.
What to do if payment fails
- Try the same method twice with a five-minute gap.
- Call your card issuer and pre-authorize the merchant.
- Switch to a different payment method (usually PayPal or Wise).
